Comprised of detailed contours and hillshade with geographic names, public lands, animal locations (Elk\/Mule Deer) and movements, roads, water bodies, and many other terrain and location markers.  This map indicates animal habitat and range (winter and summer) as well as migration corridors, which is useful for knowing where you are headed, when linked with your device's GPS technology.  Mark locations with pins or trails to know where you've been and where you are heading.  A must have reference map for the experienced hunter, and a necessity for those just getting into the sport.  The only map on the market providing the previous years hunting statistic.                These GMUs are mostly Pinyon-juniper, with pockets of sagebrush that covers most of area at lower elevations. Higher elevations are sagebrush interspersed with aspen stands and some dark timber. Terrain varies from rolling sagebrush to steep-sided canyons. Some areas are steep \u0026amp; rugged, especially in southern portion. Rains bring muddy roads. High elevation snows make roads impassible without chains. 75% of area is BLM land. There are remote hunting areas accessible by foot, horseback or ATV. Weather is generally mild. Significant energy development occurring in these units and thousands of acres that were once open to public have been closed to all use. Be careful. Acquiring current BLM land maps is advisable in these areas. DEER HUNTING The deer hunting ranges from fair to good in the Bookcliffs and Piceance units. Deer are well-distributed in the northern portion from mid-October. Concentrate on higher elevations in early seasons. If the weather is dry, you’ll need to do a lot of walking and looking. Good snows will move the herds to lower elevations to the north and to the south. Hunt high early, low later. Cathedral Rim has some big bucks, but tough terrain. Little Hills and Dry Fork of Piceance is better late. GMUs 21 and 30 are managed as quality deer units and licenses are separate from licenses that are valid in units 22, 31 or 3","brand":"Spirited Republic","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":36441584894108,"sku":"848557","price":4.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0441\/7850\/5884\/files\/20181008034739_SpiritedRepublic_CO_BigGame_ElkRange_31_preview_0.jpg?v=1723119757","url":"https:\/\/store.avenza.com\/products\/2018-gmu-31-colorado-big-game-elkmule-deer-hunting-map-habitat-and-range-spirited-republic-map","provider":"Avenza Maps","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
