Each map includes spectacular 3D hillshade topography, contour lines, public-land ownership boundaries, major roads only, key terrain features, and hydrology. Federal lands include BLM, USFS, and others where applicable.\r\n\r\nLose yourself hunting Colorado’s wide-open country — yet NEVER GET LOST!\r\n\r\nGMU 104 lies east of I-25 in the northeastern plains of Colorado, covering portions of Washington and Yuma Counties near the towns of Otis, Lone Star, Eckley, and Vernon. This high-plains unit is defined by shortgrass prairie, dryland and irrigated cropland, CRP fields, broad creek drainages, and scattered shelterbelts. The terrain is mostly open and gently rolling, making it ideal for long-range glassing and classic plains-style spot-and-stalk hunting.\r\n\r\nGMU 104 supports excellent pronghorn (antelope) populations, with herds spread widely across the prairie, crop fields, and CRP grasslands. Mule deer are common in creek bottoms, breaks, sandier rises, and agricultural edges, while white-tailed deer are regularly found around irrigation pivots, dense shelterbelts, and riparian strips. As in most eastern plains units, nearly all land is privately owned, so hunters rely on landowner permission or Colorado Parks \u0026amp; Wildlife’s Walk-In Access (WIA) program.\r\n\r\nThe region is also known for strong upland bird hunting, especially in years with good moisture. Hunters will find ring-necked pheasant, bobwhite quail, and mourning dove in CRP grass, milo stubble, weedy field margins, and brushy drainages. During late fall and winter, small ponds, playas, and low-lying ag fields can periodically attract ducks and geese moving through the eastern prairie flyway.\r\n\r\nWhy Hunters Trust Our Maps\r\n\r\nGPS-accurate and works offline in the free Avenza Map app\r\n\r\n3D hillshade topography and contour lines for terrain awareness\r\n\r\nPublic and private-land boundaries (state trust, county, and BLM where applicable) clearly displayed\r\n\r\nMajor roads only — no cluttered or confusing trail networks\r\n\r\nKey terrain features: Prairie drainages, CRP fields, shelterbelts, stock ponds, irrigation ditches, and agricultural edges\r\n\r\nClean, easy-to-read format designed for plains hunters\r\n\r\nMark your camp, glassing points, harvest sites, and bird-hunting locations\r\n\r\nCould save your life by allowing rescue personnel to pinpoint your exact location in an emergency\r\n\r\nRecommended Hunting Targets in GMU 104\r\n\r\nBig Game: Pronghorn (primary), Mule Deer, White-Tailed Deer (localized)\r\n\r\nBirds: Ring-Necked Pheasant, Bobwhite Quail, Dove, Ducks \u0026amp; Geese (seasonal and moisture-dependent)\r\n\r\nNote: GMU 104 is almost entirely private farmland, ranchland, and native prairie. Hunters must obtain landowner permission or use CPW Walk-In Access parcels. Pronghorn are plentiful across open country, while mule deer favor broken terrain, creek bottoms, and CRP cover. Bird hunting is best where food, cover, and water come together—particularly in stubble fields, CRP corners, and weedy shelterbelts.\r\n\r\nMobile Map Tips\r\n\r\nUse airplane mode to conserve battery and disable unnecessary apps. Bring a spare battery or solar charger—cell coverage can be limited across the plains. For antelope, glass from rises and pivot edges early and late. For upland birds, work CRP, grain stubble, and shelterbelts, especially near water sources.","brand":"Map the Xperience","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":45602613756060,"sku":"1713775","price":4.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0441\/7850\/5884\/files\/map-the-xperience-2025-colorado-hunt-map-gmu-104gmu-104-map-1713775-preview-0_6ab67faf-924a-4638-ba42-f266c1fb8423.jpg?v=1763568810","url":"https:\/\/store.avenza.com\/products\/2025-colorado-hunt-map-gmu-104-map-the-xperience-map","provider":"Avenza Maps","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
