The landscape is classic high-plains prairie—rolling shortgrass rangeland, dryland wheat and milo fields, CRP grasslands, shallow creek drainages, prairie breaks, and scattered ranch shelterbelts. The terrain is open and expansive, offering long sight distances ideal for glassing and traditional plains spot-and-stalk hunting.\r\n\r\nGMU 111 offers excellent pronghorn (antelope) hunting, with herds commonly found across open prairie, agricultural fields, and CRP corners. Mule deer use the rougher breaks, creek bottoms, and pockets of CRP cover, while white-tailed deer appear in small, localized pockets along riparian strips, windbreaks, and irrigated areas. As in most eastern-plains units, public land is minimal, making landowner permission essential. Seasonal Walk-In Access (WIA) parcels can supplement opportunities for both big-game and upland hunters.\r\n\r\nUpland and small-game hunting includes ring-necked pheasant, bobwhite quail, dove, coyote, and jackrabbit.
