Each map includes spectacular 3D hillshade topography, contour lines, public-land ownership boundaries, major roads only, key terrain features, and hydrology.\r\n\r\nLose yourself hunting Colorado’s wide-open prairie — yet NEVER GET LOST!\r\n\r\nGMU 119 lies on the southeastern plains of Colorado, covering large portions of Baca County near the towns of Walsh, Campo, Springfield, and Two Buttes. This unit features a mix of shortgrass prairie, sandy rangeland, dryland farms, CRP fields, rocky mesas, shallow canyons, sage flats, and creek drainages. The southern and southeastern portions transition into classic canyon and breaks country, with mesas, buttes, and rougher terrain offering excellent habitat diversity.\r\n\r\nGMU 119 is well known for high-quality pronghorn (antelope) hunting, with strong, widely distributed herds across prairie, stubble fields, and CRP corners. Mule deer thrive in the sandy breaks, canyons, sagebrush pockets, and rougher uplands, while white-tailed deer occupy localized pockets near riparian strips, farmstead shelterbelts, and irrigated fields. This unit offers some of the more rugged and scenic terrain in Colorado’s eastern plains.\r\n\r\nPublic land is limited but includes a few notable parcels, with the majority of high-quality habitat located on private ranchland, making landowner permission essential. Walk-In Access (WIA) parcels can provide additional seasonal entry for both big-game and upland hunters.\r\n\r\nUpland and small-game hunting includes ring-necked pheasant, bobwhite and scaled quail, dove, coyote, fox, and jackrabbit. Quail and scaled quail numbers can be excellent in years with good moisture, particularly in the sandy, brushy portions of the unit.\r\n\r\nWhy Hunters Trust Our Maps\r\n\r\nGPS-accurate and works offline in the free Avenza Map app\r\n\r\n3D hillshade and contour lines highlight subtle terrain changes and rugged breaks\r\n\r\nPublic and private-land boundaries clearly displayed\r\n\r\nMajor roads only — clean, uncluttered navigation\r\n\r\nKey terrain features: Sandy breaks, canyons, mesas, CRP fields, crop edges, prairie drainages, stock ponds, windmills, and shelterbelts\r\n\r\nClean, easy-to-read layout designed specifically for plains hunters\r\n\r\nMark your glassing points, fence crossings, harvest sites, and bird-hunting areas\r\n\r\nCould save your life by allowing emergency personnel to pinpoint your exact position\r\n\r\nRecommended Hunting Targets in GMU 119\r\n\r\nBig Game: Pronghorn (primary), Mule Deer, White-Tailed Deer\r\n\r\nBirds: Scaled Quail, Bobwhite Quail, Ring-Necked Pheasant, Dove\r\n\r\nOther: Coyote, Fox, Jackrabbit, Small Game\r\n\r\nNote: GMU 119 is predominantly private land, with only limited public parcels. Hunters must secure landowner permission or utilize CPW Walk-In Access (WIA) parcels. The most productive hunting often occurs in and around sandy breaks, brushy canyons, CRP patches, and crop edges that combine food, cover, and water.\r\n\r\nMobile Map Tips\r\n\r\nUse airplane mode to conserve battery and turn off unnecessary apps. Bring a backup battery or solar charger—cell service can be limited in this remote plains region. For pronghorn, glass from rising terrain or pivot edges early and late. For deer, concentrate on canyon edges, drainages, sage pockets, and crop-field transitions, especially during dawn and dusk.","brand":"Map the Xperience","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":45602866266268,"sku":"1713790","price":4.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0441\/7850\/5884\/files\/map-the-xperience-2025-colorado-hunt-map-gmu-119-map-1713790-preview-0.jpg?v=1763568136","url":"https:\/\/store.avenza.com\/products\/2025-colorado-hunt-map-gmu-119-map-the-xperience-map","provider":"Avenza Maps","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
