Each map includes spectacular 3D hillshade topography, contour lines, public-land ownership boundaries, major roads only, key terrain features, and hydrology.\r\n\r\nLose yourself hunting Colorado’s wide-open prairie — yet NEVER GET LOST!\r\n\r\nGMU 120 lies on the southeastern plains of Colorado, covering portions of Baca County near the communities of Campo, Vilas, Walsh, and Pritchett. This unit features a unique blend of shortgrass prairie, sandy rangeland, CRP fields, dryland farms, sagebrush flats, canyons, buttes, and rugged breaks. It is one of the more varied and scenic units on the eastern plains, with deep draws, scattered juniper, and rolling mesas providing excellent habitat diversity.\r\n\r\nGMU 120 is known for strong pronghorn (antelope) populations, thriving across the open prairie, crop stubble, and CRP grasslands. Mule deer are common in the sandy breaks, rugged canyons, juniper pockets, and sagebrush uplands, while white-tailed deer appear in localized pockets along creek drainages, farmstead shelterbelts, and irrigated edges. The variety of terrain makes GMU 120 one of the more dynamic deer units in southeast Colorado.\r\n\r\nPublic land exists in limited pieces, but the majority of the unit consists of private ranchland, making landowner permission essential. Colorado Parks \u0026amp; Wildlife’s Walk-In Access (WIA) parcels may provide additional seasonal access, especially for upland birds and small game.\r\n\r\nUpland and small-game opportunities include scaled quail, bobwhite quail, ring-necked pheasant, dove, coyote, fox, and jackrabbit. Scaled quail can be excellent in good moisture years, particularly in the sandy and brushy southern portions of the unit.\r\n\r\nWhy Hunters Trust Our Maps\r\n\r\nGPS-accurate and works offline in the free Avenza Map app\r\n\r\n3D hillshade and contour lines highlight prairie terrain and rugged breaks\r\n\r\nPublic and private-land boundaries clearly marked\r\n\r\nMajor roads only — clean, uncluttered navigation\r\n\r\nKey terrain features: Canyons, mesas, sandy breaks, sage flats, CRP fields, crop edges, stock ponds, and prairie drainages\r\n\r\nClean, easy-to-read layout purpose-built for eastern plains hunters\r\n\r\nMark your glassing points, fence crossings, harvest sites, and bird-hunting areas\r\n\r\nCould save your life by helping emergency responders pinpoint your exact location\r\n\r\nRecommended Hunting Targets in GMU 120\r\n\r\nBig Game: Pronghorn (primary), Mule Deer, White-Tailed Deer\r\n\r\nBirds: Scaled Quail, Bobwhite Quail, Ring-Necked Pheasant, Dove\r\n\r\nOther: Coyote, Fox, Jackrabbit, Small Game\r\n\r\nNote: GMU 120 is predominantly private land, with only small scattered public parcels. Hunters must secure landowner permission or rely on WIA parcels for legal access. Success is highest where rugged terrain meets crop edges, or in sandy canyons, sagebrush pockets, and CRP fields with reliable food and cover nearby.\r\n\r\nMobile Map Tips\r\n\r\nUse airplane mode to save battery and close background apps. Bring a backup battery or solar charger—cell coverage is limited in this remote plains unit. For pronghorn, glass from rises, pivot edges, or mesa tops. For deer, focus on canyon edges, drainages, brush-covered slopes, and crop-field transitions, especially during dawn and dusk.","brand":"Map the Xperience","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":45602868560028,"sku":"1713791","price":4.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0441\/7850\/5884\/files\/map-the-xperience-2025-colorado-hunt-map-gmu-120-map-1713791-preview-0_e4132436-eb7f-4c2d-8934-c1a90b20e6b9.jpg?v=1763568864","url":"https:\/\/store.avenza.com\/products\/2025-colorado-hunt-map-gmu-120-map-the-xperience-map","provider":"Avenza Maps","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
