The terrain varies sharply across the unit, making it ideal for hunters who enjoy both open-country and rugged, broken ground.\r\n\r\nGMU 130 supports strong pronghorn (antelope) numbers, with herds commonly found across prairie flats, CRP corners, rangeland, and crop edges. Mule deer thrive in the rugged canyon systems, using juniper slopes, rimrock benches, brushy draws, and broken terrain as bedding and escape cover. They often move into the lower flats to feed during dawn and dusk. White-tailed deer are present in smaller pockets along creek bottoms, irrigated fields, cottonwood-lined drainages, and agricultural transitions.\r\n\r\nPublic land exists in limited patches, mostly in rugged areas, but the majority of GMU 130 is made up of private ranchland, making landowner permission a critical part of planning a hunt.
