Each map includes spectacular 3D hillshade topography, contour lines, public-land ownership boundaries, major roads only, key terrain features, and hydrology.\r\n\r\nLose yourself in Colorado’s wide-open prairie and farmland — yet NEVER GET LOST!\r\n\r\nGMU 133 lies on the east-central plains of Colorado, covering portions of Lincoln, Elbert, and Cheyenne Counties near the communities of Karval, Boyero, Wild Horse, and Aroya. The landscape is dominated by rolling shortgrass prairie, dryland farms, CRP fields, pastureland, ranch country, and prairie drainages. This unit is typical open-country plains habitat—subtle terrain, long sight distances, and big horizons.\r\n\r\nGMU 133 offers strong pronghorn (antelope) hunting, with herds commonly found throughout the prairie, crop stubble, CRP patches, and open rangeland. Mule deer occupy the shallow draws, brushy pockets, creek bottoms, and broken prairie edges, while white-tailed deer appear in localized pockets along riparian strips, shelterbelts, and irrigated field edges. The mix of native rangeland and agricultural fields creates dependable big-game movement patterns.\r\n\r\nPublic access is extremely limited, as the majority of the unit is private ranchland and farmland. Hunters must secure landowner permission or rely on any available Colorado Parks \u0026amp; Wildlife Walk-In Access (WIA) parcels during the season.\r\n\r\nUpland and predator-hunting opportunities include ring-necked pheasant, bobwhite quail, scaled quail (localized), dove, coyote, fox, and jackrabbit. Pheasant and quail numbers fluctuate each year depending on precipitation and habitat conditions but can be strong in areas with CRP, weedy edges, and crop-field transitions.\r\n\r\nWhy Hunters Trust Our Maps\r\n\r\nGPS-accurate and works offline in the free Avenza Map app\r\n\r\n3D hillshade and contour lines bring subtle plains terrain to life\r\n\r\nPublic and private-land boundaries clearly displayed\r\n\r\nMajor roads only — clean, uncluttered navigation for huge open spaces\r\n\r\nKey terrain features: Prairie drainages, CRP fields, shelterbelts, crop edges, playa basins, stock ponds, windmills, and rangeland breaks\r\n\r\nClean, easy-to-read layout tailored for plains hunters\r\n\r\nMark your camps, glassing points, fence crossings, harvest sites, and upland bird hotspots\r\n\r\nCould save your life by allowing emergency responders to pinpoint your location\r\n\r\nRecommended Hunting Targets in GMU 133\r\n\r\nBig Game: Pronghorn (primary), Mule Deer, White-Tailed Deer\r\n\r\nBirds: Pheasant, Bobwhite Quail, Scaled Quail (localized), Dove\r\n\r\nOther: Coyote, Fox, Jackrabbit, Small Game\r\n\r\nNote: GMU 133 is over 95% private land, dominated by rangeland and agricultural use. Hunters must obtain landowner permission or take advantage of WIA parcels shown for the current season. Productive areas often include field edges, draws, creek bottoms, and CRP patches where food, cover, and water meet.\r\n\r\nMobile Map Tips\r\n\r\nUse airplane mode to conserve battery life and disable background apps. Bring a backup battery or solar charger—cell coverage can be inconsistent across the plains. For pronghorn, glass from rises and pivot edges early and late. For deer, focus on drainages, creek bottoms, brushy pockets, and crop-field transitions, especially during dawn and dusk.","brand":"Map the Xperience","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":45610381574300,"sku":"1714671","price":4.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0441\/7850\/5884\/files\/map-the-xperience-2025-colorado-hunt-map-gmu-133-map-1714671-preview-0_e8df502b-c92e-4723-b6cc-bd9d2b916c35.jpg?v=1763740591","url":"https:\/\/store.avenza.com\/products\/2025-colorado-hunt-map-gmu-133-map-the-xperience-map","provider":"Avenza Maps","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
