Each map includes spectacular 3D hillshade topography, contour lines, public-land ownership boundaries, major roads only, key terrain features, and hydrology.\r\n\r\nLose yourself in Colorado’s vast prairie and rolling ranch country — yet NEVER GET LOST!\r\n\r\nGMU 134 lies on the east-central plains of Colorado, covering portions of Lincoln, Cheyenne, and Elbert Counties near the communities of Karval, Wild Horse, Aroya, and Boyero. The unit is characterized by wide-open shortgrass prairie, dryland farms, CRP fields, creek drainages, playa basins, shelterbelts, and rolling rangeland. With minimal trees and long sight distances, GMU 134 offers classic open-country plains hunting.\r\n\r\nGMU 134 provides excellent opportunities for pronghorn (antelope), which are widely distributed across prairie flats, crop fields, CRP grasslands, and stubble. Mule deer inhabit the shallow draws, creek bottoms, brushy pockets, and broken prairie transitions, while white-tailed deer occur in smaller, localized pockets near riparian corridors, cottonwood strips, farmstead shelterbelts, and irrigated edges.\r\n\r\nAs with most plains units, public land is extremely limited. The majority of GMU 134 is private ranchland and farmland, making landowner permission essential for big-game access. Seasonal Colorado Parks \u0026amp; Wildlife Walk-In Access (WIA) parcels may provide additional hunting opportunity, especially for upland species.\r\n\r\nUpland and small-game opportunities include ring-necked pheasant, bobwhite quail, scaled quail (localized), dove, coyote, fox, and jackrabbit. Bird numbers are strongest in areas where CRP, grain stubble, brushy edges, and weedy draws intersect.\r\n\r\nWhy Hunters Trust Our Maps\r\n\r\nGPS-accurate and works offline in the free Avenza Map app\r\n\r\n3D hillshade and contour lines highlight subtle plains rises and drainages\r\n\r\nPublic and private-land boundaries clearly displayed\r\n\r\nMajor roads only — clean, uncluttered navigation for big open country\r\n\r\nKey terrain features: Prairie drainages, CRP fields, shelterbelts, crop edges, playa basins, stock ponds, windmills, and rangeland breaks\r\n\r\nClean, easy-to-read layout tailored for plains hunters\r\n\r\nMark your camps, glassing points, fence crossings, harvest sites, and upland bird fields\r\n\r\nCould save your life by allowing emergency responders to pinpoint your exact location\r\n\r\nRecommended Hunting Targets in GMU 134\r\n\r\nBig Game: Pronghorn (primary), Mule Deer, White-Tailed Deer\r\n\r\nBirds: Pheasant, Bobwhite Quail, Scaled Quail (localized), Dove\r\n\r\nOther: Coyote, Fox, Jackrabbit, Small Game\r\n\r\nNote: GMU 134 is over 95% private land, with hunting depending heavily on landowner permission. Productive big-game and upland hunting is typically found where native prairie meets agricultural edges, or in brushy draws, creek drainages, CRP patches, and field transitions.\r\n\r\nMobile Map Tips\r\n\r\nUse airplane mode to conserve battery and shut down unnecessary apps. Carry a backup battery or solar charger—coverage can be inconsistent across the plains. For pronghorn, glass from rises, pivot edges, or high spots at dawn and dusk. For deer, focus on drainages, brushy pockets, crop edges, and shelterbelts, especially during morning and evening movement.","brand":"Map the Xperience","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":45610386161820,"sku":"1714676","price":0.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0441\/7850\/5884\/files\/map-the-xperience-2025-colorado-hunt-map-gmu-134-map-1714676-preview-0_b08bce84-dc00-46c1-98de-c84115179b4f.jpg?v=1763740629","url":"https:\/\/store.avenza.com\/products\/2025-colorado-hunt-map-gmu-134-map-the-xperience-map","provider":"Avenza Maps","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
