Each map includes spectacular 3D hillshade topography, contour lines, public-land ownership boundaries, major roads only, key terrain features, and hydrology.\r\n\r\nLose yourself in Colorado’s open prairie, rolling rangeland, and farm country — yet NEVER GET LOST!\r\n\r\nGMU 137 lies on the east-central plains of Colorado, covering portions of Lincoln, Kit Carson, Cheyenne, and Elbert Counties near the communities of Arapahoe, Wild Horse, Arriba, Seibert, and Karval. The landscape features shortgrass prairie, dryland and irrigated cropland, CRP fields, ranch pastures, prairie drainages, shallow canyons, and playa basins. With subtle hills and wide-open horizons, this unit offers classic long-distance plains hunting.\r\n\r\nGMU 137 supports strong pronghorn (antelope) numbers, commonly found across the prairie, crop stubble, CRP grasslands, and rolling rangeland. Mule deer use the rougher terrain, including prairie draws, creek bottoms, shallow canyons, brushy pockets, and areas where rangeland meets agriculture. White-tailed deer occur in smaller pockets along riparian corridors, shelterbelts, and irrigated fields.\r\n\r\nPublic access is extremely limited. The vast majority of GMU 137 consists of private farmland and ranchland, making landowner permission essential. Hunters can supplement private access with seasonal Colorado Parks \u0026amp; Wildlife Walk-In Access (WIA) parcels when available.\r\n\r\nUpland and small-game species include ring-necked pheasant, bobwhite quail, scaled quail (localized), dove, coyote, fox, and jackrabbit. Pheasant and quail numbers fluctuate annually, with the best success found where CRP, crop stubble, and weedy edges intersect with prairie drainages.\r\n\r\nWhy Hunters Trust Our Maps\r\n\r\nGPS-accurate and works offline in the free Avenza Map app\r\n\r\n3D hillshade and contour lines highlight subtle plains rises and prairie drainages\r\n\r\nPublic and private-land boundaries clearly displayed\r\n\r\nMajor roads only — clean, uncluttered navigation for huge open spaces\r\n\r\nKey terrain features: Prairie draws, CRP fields, crop edges, playa basins, shelterbelts, stock ponds, windmills, and rangeland breaks\r\n\r\nClean, easy-to-read layout designed specifically for plains hunters\r\n\r\nMark your camps, glassing points, fence crossings, harvest sites, and upland bird fields\r\n\r\nCould save your life by helping emergency personnel locate you quickly\r\n\r\nRecommended Hunting Targets in GMU 137\r\n\r\nBig Game: Pronghorn (primary), Mule Deer, White-Tailed Deer\r\n\r\nBirds: Pheasant, Bobwhite Quail, Scaled Quail (localized), Dove\r\n\r\nOther: Coyote, Fox, Jackrabbit, Small Game\r\n\r\nNote: GMU 137 is over 95% private land. Hunters must secure landowner permission or rely on WIA parcels for legal access. Productive hunting areas often include drainages, CRP patches, brushy pockets, and field edges where food and cover overlap.\r\n\r\nMobile Map Tips\r\n\r\nUse airplane mode to conserve battery and close background apps. Carry a spare battery or solar charger—cell coverage is limited in many areas. For pronghorn, glass from rises or pivot edges early and late. For deer, target drainages, creek bottoms, brushy pockets, and crop-field transitions, especially during low-light movement.","brand":"Map the Xperience","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":45612696830108,"sku":"1715583","price":4.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0441\/7850\/5884\/files\/map-the-xperience-gmu-137-map-1715583-preview-0_fb6fa3cb-64e3-402a-9bf1-b2d64c784d6e.jpg?v=1763745449","url":"https:\/\/store.avenza.com\/products\/2025-colorado-hunt-map-gmu-137-map-the-xperience-map","provider":"Avenza Maps","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
