Each map includes spectacular 3D hillshade topography, contour lines, public-land ownership boundaries, major roads only, key terrain features, and hydrology. Federal lands include BLM, USFS, and others where applicable.\r\n\r\nLose yourself hunting Colorado’s wide-open country — yet NEVER GET LOST!\r\n\r\nGMU 145 lies east of I-25 in the southeastern plains of Colorado, covering portions of Kiowa, Prowers, and Cheyenne Counties near the towns of Sheridan Lake, Towner, and Brandon. This region is the heart of Colorado’s high plains—vast, open, and windswept, with shortgrass prairie, dryland farms, CRP fields, and scattered creek drainages defining the landscape. The unit’s terrain is generally flat to gently rolling, offering big-sky views and long-range visibility ideal for spot-and-stalk hunting.\r\n\r\nThis is prime pronghorn (antelope) country, with healthy herds distributed across the open rangelands and agricultural flats. Mule deer are found near drainages, CRP fields, and rougher prairie draws, while white-tailed deer occur locally near farmsteads and shelterbelts. As with most eastern plains units, nearly all land is privately owned, so hunters should secure landowner permission or use Colorado Parks \u0026amp; Wildlife’s Walk-In Access (WIA) properties for legal access.\r\n\r\nGMU 145 also offers upland bird hunting opportunities for ring-necked pheasant, bobwhite quail, and mourning dove, especially in good moisture years when CRP grass and grain stubble provide quality cover. During the late fall and winter, small wetlands and stock ponds can also attract ducks and geese traveling the southern reaches of the Central Flyway.\r\n\r\nWhy Hunters Trust Our Maps\r\n\r\nGPS-accurate and works offline in the free Avenza Map app\r\n\r\n3D hillshade topography and contour lines for terrain awareness\r\n\r\nPublic and private-land boundaries (state trust, county, and BLM where applicable) clearly displayed\r\n\r\nMajor roads only — no dense or confusing trail networks\r\n\r\nKey terrain features: Prairie drainages, CRP grasslands, shelterbelts, ranch ponds, and agricultural edges\r\n\r\nClean, easy-to-read format tailored for plains hunters\r\n\r\nMark your camp, harvest sites, glassing points, and bird-hunting fields\r\n\r\nCould save your life by allowing rescue personnel to pinpoint your exact location in an emergency\r\n\r\nRecommended Hunting Targets in GMU 145\r\n\r\nBig Game: Pronghorn (primary), Mule Deer, White-Tailed Deer (localized)\r\n\r\nBirds: Ring-Necked Pheasant, Bobwhite Quail, Dove, Ducks \u0026amp; Geese (seasonal and weather dependent)\r\n\r\nNote: Nearly all of GMU 145 is private farmland and ranchland. Hunters must obtain landowner permission or utilize CPW Walk-In Access parcels for legal entry. Pronghorn are widespread across the open prairie, while mule deer favor the few broken areas and creek bottoms. Bird hunters should focus on CRP corners, weedy fencerows, and harvested grain fields near cover.\r\n\r\nMobile Map Tips: Use airplane mode to conserve battery power and turn off background apps. Carry a backup battery or solar charger—cell service can be limited in remote areas. For antelope, glass early and late from high vantage points; for upland birds, target weedy edges, CRP fields, and grain stubble near water or shelterbelts.","brand":"Map the Xperience","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":45483536973980,"sku":"1713040","price":4.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0441\/7850\/5884\/files\/map-the-xperience-2025-colorado-hunt-map-gmu-145-map-1713040-preview-0_cdbc7a9a-1fb9-4003-b938-6794ac65bbc5.jpg?v=1761743742","url":"https:\/\/store.avenza.com\/products\/2025-colorado-hunt-map-gmu-145-map-the-xperience-map","provider":"Avenza Maps","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
