Each map includes spectacular 3D hillshade topography, contour lines, public-land ownership boundaries, major roads only, key terrain features, and hydrology. Federal lands include BLM, USFS, and others where applicable.\r\n\r\nLose yourself hunting Colorado’s wide-open country — yet NEVER GET LOST!\r\n\r\nGMU 91 lies in the far northeast corner of Colorado near Julesburg, Ovid, and Sedgwick, bordering Nebraska to the east and the South Platte River corridor to the south. This unit features open short-grass prairie, irrigated farmland, sandhill draws, and riverbottom habitat. Mule deer and white-tailed deer are the primary big-game species, while pronghorn (antelope) can be found across the higher plains and open pastureland. The South Platte River system supports healthy deer populations thanks to ample food and cover, especially in riparian zones and agricultural areas.\r\n\r\nSince this unit is located east of I-25, upland and waterfowl bird hunting is a major part of the outdoor experience. Game-bird species include ring-necked pheasant, northern bobwhite quail, scaled quail, and abundant waterfowl (ducks and geese) along the South Platte River and nearby wetlands. Pheasant and quail numbers in northeast Colorado have been strong in recent years, supported by excellent habitat and walk-in access programs.\r\n\r\nWhy Hunters Trust Our Maps\r\n\r\nGPS-accurate and works offline in the free Avenza Map app\r\n\r\n3D hillshade topography and contour lines for terrain awareness\r\n\r\nPublic-land and private-land boundaries (BLM, state trust, county) clearly displayed\r\n\r\nMajor roads only (for orientation) – no dense trail networks\r\n\r\nKey terrain features: creeks, reservoirs, sandhills, shelterbelts, irrigation canals\r\n\r\nClear, easy-read format built for plains hunters\r\n\r\nMark your camp, glassing points, harvest sites, and bird-hunting fields\r\n\r\nCould save your life by allowing rescue personnel to pinpoint your exact location in an emergency\r\n\r\nRecommended Hunting Targets in GMU 91\r\n\r\nBig Game: Mule Deer (primary), White-Tailed Deer (secondary), Pronghorn (where habitat allows)\r\nBirds: Pheasant (cock upland), Bobwhite \u0026amp; Scaled Quail, Waterfowl (ducks\/geese) in South Platte River corridor and wetlands\r\n\r\nNote: On eastern plains units, access may require private-land permission. Much of GMU 91’s habitat is agricultural or privately owned—check Colorado Parks \u0026amp; Wildlife’s Walk-In Access program for public opportunities.\r\n\r\nMobile Map Tips: Use your phone in airplane mode to conserve battery. Turn off unnecessary apps. Carry a spare battery or solar charger—essential in plains country where distances are vast. For bird hunting, focus on field edges, shelterbelts, corn and milo stubble for pheasants, and flooded lowlands or river channels for ducks and geese.","brand":"Map the Xperience","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":45483401707676,"sku":"1713032","price":4.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0441\/7850\/5884\/files\/map-the-xperience-2025-colorado-hunt-map-gmu-91-map-1713032-preview-0_ea20a88d-ac67-461e-a6d2-b29e50fa30e3.jpg?v=1761744341","url":"https:\/\/store.avenza.com\/products\/2025-colorado-hunt-map-gmu-91-map-the-xperience-map","provider":"Avenza Maps","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
