Each map includes spectacular 3D hillshade topography, contour lines, public-land ownership boundaries, major roads only, key terrain features, and hydrology. Federal lands include BLM, USFS, and others where applicable.

Lose yourself hunting Colorado’s wide-open country — yet NEVER GET LOST!

GMU 94 sits in Weld County north of Denver, east of I-25, and centers around towns like Greeley, Evans, LaSalle, Kersey, Platteville, Fort Lupton, and Hudson. The South Platte River and tributaries (St. Vrain, Big Thompson lower reaches, irrigation canals) thread through a mosaic of irrigated cropland, shelterbelts, riparian cottonwood bottoms, and open prairie. This unit is predominantly private land with pockets of access via CPW’s Walk-In Access (WIA) program. Whitetails are concentrated along the South Platte corridor and thick shelterbelts; mule deer use the fringes, draws, and dryland crop country. Pronghorn occur on the more open plains portions of the unit.

Because GMU 94 is east of I-25, it’s also a strong upland and waterfowl destination. Expect ring-necked pheasant, bobwhite & scaled quail, plus robust duck and goose flights along the South Platte Flyway and nearby ponds and fields when conditions line up. Access is largely permission-based, with WIA parcels providing seasonal options for birds.

Why Hunters Trust Our Maps

GPS-accurate and works offline in the free Avenza Map app

3D hillshade topography and contour lines for terrain awareness

Public- and private-land boundaries (state trust, county, BLM where applicable) clearly displayed

Major roads only (for orientation) – no cluttered trail networks

Key terrain features: South Platte River, tributary creeks, irrigation canals, shelterbelts, ponds/reservoirs

Clear, easy-read format built for plains hunters

Mark your camp, glassing points, harvest sites, and bird-hunting fields

Could save your life by allowing rescue personnel to pinpoint your exact location in an emergency

Recommended Hunting Targets in GMU 94

Big Game: White-Tailed Deer (primary), Mule Deer, Pronghorn

Birds: Ring-Necked Pheasant, Bobwhite & Scaled Quail, Ducks & Geese (South Platte corridor and wetlands)

Note: Most of GMU 94 is private agricultural land. Obtain landowner permission or use CPW Walk-In Access parcels for legal entry. Riverbottoms and dense shelterbelts are hotspots for whitetails; harvested grain stubble and weedy edges are reliable for pheasants and quail.

Mobile Map Tips

Use airplane mode to conserve battery, disable background apps, and carry a spare battery/solar charger—coverage can be limited on the plains. For birds, work field edges, CRP corners, weedy draws, and shelterbelts; check shallow ponds, gravel pits, and flooded fields for migrating ducks and geese.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0441/7850/5884/files/map-the-xperience-gmu-94-map-1712996-preview-0_ab268a9e-51d2-4d4e-aa80-6b0a60f2079c.jpg?v=1761667693
