All three maps can be purchased and downloaded as a map bundle.\r\n\r\nOur mission was simple—create highly detailed, GPS-accurate maps for Utah’s premier big-game hunt units. Each map includes 3D hillshade, contour lines, public and private land boundaries, major roads, hydrology, and essential terrain features. Lose yourself in Utah’s rugged mountain country—yet NEVER GET LOST.\r\n\r\nThe Beaver Unit in southwestern Utah is one of the most celebrated big-game units in the state, known for producing world-class elk and mule deer. Stretching across the Tushar Mountains and surrounding foothills, the unit encompasses high alpine peaks, aspen and conifer forests, sagebrush benches, oakbrush slopes, deep canyons, rolling foothills, and productive riparian corridors. Elevations range from sage-covered lowlands to over 12,000 feet on Delano Peak—creating some of the most diverse and game-rich habitat in Utah.\r\n\r\nBig game in the Beaver Unit follow elevation and habitat shifts throughout the year. Elk typically bed in north-facing timber pockets, thick aspen stands, and secluded mountain basins where shade, water, and cover are abundant. At dawn and dusk, herds move onto open meadows, grassy benches, and high ridgelines to feed. During periods of pressure, elk retreat into tighter cover—steep avalanche chutes, dark timber, brushy side draws, or remote basins with limited access.\r\n\r\nMule deer in the Beaver Unit follow similar patterns, bedding in oakbrush and aspen during early seasons, then shifting higher into alpine basins and open ridges as fall progresses. Bucks often stage in transitional zones where timber meets open feed, making glassing from distance a key strategy.\r\n\r\nHunting the Beaver Unit requires adaptability—spot-and-stalk techniques in open alpine terrain, patient glassing from vantage points, and slow, methodical still-hunting in brushy foothills or timbered pockets. Long-range visibility in the high country helps hunters locate animals early, but stalks must be carefully planned around shifting winds, steep elevation changes, and variable cover. In dense oakbrush or dark timber, hunters rely more on tracking sign, ambush setups, and quiet movement along saddles, benches, or natural funnels.\r\n\r\nLandownership in the Beaver Unit includes large expanses of Fishlake National Forest, BLM ground, State Trust lands, and scattered private inholdings near valley floors and access routes. Because many approach routes cross mixed ownership boundaries, accurate navigation is essential. Our map clearly displays landownership, designated access points, trail networks, hydrology, and the terrain features that shape game movement throughout the Tushars.\r\n\r\nHunters trust our maps because they offer precise, GPS-accurate tracking in the Avenza app even without cell coverage—critical in the remote, mountainous terrain of the Beaver Unit. The 3D hillshade layer reveals ridges, chutes, benches, canyons, avalanche paths, saddles, and elevation breaks that help hunters quickly read the landscape and anticipate animal movement. The map layout avoids clutter while including every essential navigation tool. Mark your glassing knobs, basin entrances, bedding pockets, water sources, wallows, access routes, pack-out paths, and harvest locations with total confidence.\r\n\r\nFor best field performance, switch your phone to airplane mode to preserve battery life and carry a backup power supply. Download your map before entering the unit, as reception is limited across the Tushar Mountains. Pre-marking ridge systems, meadows, creek crossings, trailheads, and likely travel corridors will greatly improve your efficiency and success once the hunt begins.","brand":"Map the Xperience","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":45694844502172,"sku":"1719422","price":4.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0441\/7850\/5884\/files\/map-the-xperience-2025-utah-hunt-map-beaver-unit-north-map-1719422-preview-0_4c48b352-5d34-4b54-85d1-2877d18d81ff.jpg?v=1765297956","url":"https:\/\/store.avenza.com\/products\/2025-utah-hunt-map-beaver-unit-north-map-the-xperience-map","provider":"Avenza Maps","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
