The unit features vast expanses of high-elevation forests, hundreds of lakes and ponds, rolling aspen hillsides, spruce-fir timber stands, oakbrush slopes, sagebrush benches, volcanic boulder fields, and deep canyons dropping off the mountain’s flanks. Elevations range from desert foothills near Escalante and Torrey to alpine lakes exceeding 11,000 feet, creating a dramatic and diverse landscape.\r\n\r\nBig game in the Boulder Unit rely heavily on elevation, seasonal forage, and abundant water.
