The first loop is Glass Butte, a 91 mile loop to the historic Glass Butte obsidian fields. The second loop trail is to Christmas Valley and Crack in the Ground, this loop runs through Ram Dry Lake, which is very wet this year, the dunes and then Crack in the Ground, you want to make the 8 mile detour to Christmas Valley to lunch and gas. The third loop trail is to Derrick Cave Area, with side route to 2510 C.G. and Pine Mountain, a 120+miles of adventure. All trails can be accessed from Christmas Valley, 2510 C.G., Domiick Wells, Brothers or the CV Dunes. The detail of these these new large format maps is incredible and the ease of use is without equal, these maps cover nearly 2500 square miles of some of Oregon's most incredible mountain and desert landscape.\r\n\r\nBlue Trails=loop trails and may share some trails with other loop trails\r\nRed Trails=Point of Interest side trails and will add to total mileage so always keep fuel in mind\r\nCircle with X=Junctions or reference points\r\n\r\nDisclaimer;This is a 2 map package that covers from 2510 C.G. to Glass Mountain and south the Christmas Valley. There are 3 primary loops all centering around Dominick Wells which is a little known Staging Area off of Hwy. 20 on Fredrick Road. Dominick Well which is an old homestead and today is a cattle operation. But you can stage at 2510 C.G., Glass Mountain, the Christmas Valley dunes or stager at Brothers Roadside Rest. The Area around Ram Dry, which is a wet lake in the spring, is a beautiful pine forest that give way to junipers as head down the mountain and finally desert and dunes. These 2 map combined have 230 miles of loop trails and another 159 miles of mapped trails to points of interests. Make sure to bring water and extra fuel.
