Beyond Koshin-sanso (currently closed for renovations), surefootedness is also needed for navigating the ladders and chains enabling hikers to skirt the cliffs on the summit’s eastern side. Upon reaching the top, one is rewarded with a spectacular view north of Mt Sukai, Mt Nikko-shirane and Mt Nantai. Along the way, curious rock formations and the Koshin 7-falls (Koshin-nana-taki) make for pleasant interludes.
