Elevations shown on this map will vary from old USGS topographic maps (vertical datum: NGVD29) due to vertical datum differences and the improved quality of LiDAR data.  Your GPS enabled device (vertical datum: WGS84) will return questionable elevation values due to technologies and datum differences.  \r\n\r\nLiDAR elevation data was downloaded from the Washington Department of Natural Resources and shows crevasse locations at the time of data collection.  Snow and vegetation data were derived using a combination of LiDAR and  a supervised-maximum-likelyhood image classification of USDA NAIP imagery.
