{"product_id":"slovenia-125000-topographic-maps-full-coverage-visionmap-ltd-uk-map","title":"Slovenia 1:25,000 ⦿ Topographic Maps ⦿ Full Coverage","description":"High-resolution 1:25,000 topographic coverage of this region of Slovenia, forming part of a seamless 73-sheet national grid.\r\nDesigned for fluid navigation across map borders and consistent nationwide detail.\r\n\r\n▌▌ DATA SOURCES AND CARTOGRAPHIC PROCESS ▌▌\r\nThe cartographic base originates from historical Slovenian topographic materials, digitally reconstructed and reinterpreted to preserve traditional visual character while achieving modern spatial precision. The maps integrate data from official Slovenian archives, Public Geodetic Data of Slovenia, the Mountain Paths Cadastre maintained by the Alpine Association of Slovenia (Planinska zveza Slovenije), and selected OpenStreetMap layers.\r\n\r\nLegacy cartographic sources were vectorized and reinterpreted to maintain recognizable topographic structure while introducing a contemporary visual system optimized for digital clarity. Special attention was given to infrastructure elements such as roads, tunnels, and bridges. A dedicated visual typology was developed to ensure that even small structural features remain clearly distinguishable at all zoom levels. Infrastructure and land-use layers were harmonized nationwide to provide consistent readability across the entire grid. In addition, a controlled sheet-overlap system was engineered to improve cross-border navigation within the Avenza environment, preserving spatial continuity across map edges.\r\n\r\n▌▌ HOW THE MAPS ARE ORGANIZED ▌▌\r\nComplete national 1:25,000 topographic coverage of Slovenia in a seamless 73-map grid. The grid extends from A0 in the southwest to M7 in the northeast. Letters (A–M) define the west-to-east axis, while numbers (0–7) define the south-to-north axis. Peripheral grid tiles falling outside Slovenia’s national territory are not included.\r\n\r\n▌▌ ULTIMATE LAYER – ALPINE TRAIL NETWORK ▌▌\r\nThe Ultimate Layer includes the complete network of officially maintained Alpine trail segments across Slovenia, totalling more than 10,000 kilometres. The trails are maintained by the Alpine Association of Slovenia (Planinska zveza Slovenije) and its volunteer trail markers, ensuring reliable marking and long-term field maintenance.\r\n\r\nIn 1953, Slovenia established the Slovenian Mountain Trail — the first long-distance connecting mountain trail of its kind in the world. All routes are marked with the standardized Knafelc blaze (a white dot inside a red ring), a nationally recognized symbol of safe mountain navigation.\r\n\r\nIntegrated as a dedicated rasterized vector overlay, this layer distinguishes trail difficulty using clear visual styles:\r\n\r\n• Red solid line – normal route\r\n• Red dashed line – demanding route\r\n• Red dotted line – very demanding route\r\n\r\n“Normal” does not mean easy. Appropriate equipment, proper footwear, and adequate preparation are essential for safe mountain travel at all levels.\r\n\r\n▌▌ WHY VISIT SLOVENIA? ▌▌\r\nBecause few countries offer so much within such a small space.\r\n\r\nWithin just 20,000 square kilometres, Slovenia brings together Alpine peaks, Mediterranean coastline, Karst caves, forested plateaus, river valleys, vineyard hills, and thermal plains — all within short travel distances. In a single week, you can hike high mountain ridges, swim in the Adriatic Sea, explore underground caves, cycle through wine regions, and relax beside emerald rivers.\r\n\r\nSlovenia is one of the safest and most accessible outdoor countries in Europe. By pioneering the world’s first long-distance connecting mountain trail in 1953, the country established a tradition of organized hiking that continues today. This structured approach to outdoor recreation extends to mountain biking, where Slovenia stands out for the diversity and density of its terrain. The official Slovenian Mountain Bike Trail spans approximately 1,800 kilometres across 41 stages, linking Alpine regions, forested plateaus, and border ridges into a continuous long-distance cycling experience. The trail system is maintained under the framework of the Alpine Association of Slovenia, reflecting the same strong volunteer-supported infrastructure that defines the country’s hiking network. Accessibility is exceptional — from Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport, the closest marked Alpine trail is only about five kilometres away, allowing visitors to step off the plane and into the mountains within minutes.\r\n\r\nBeyond its landscapes, Slovenia offers exceptional regional cuisine, world-class wines, and traditional local beers — a perfect way to celebrate outdoor achievement responsibly.\r\n\r\nCompact, diverse, safe, and culturally rich — Slovenia rewards those who explore it with preparation, awareness, and a spirit of adventure.","brand":"visionmap Ltd UK","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46576683614364,"sku":"1786987","price":24.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0441\/7850\/5884\/files\/20260324171453-visionmap-ltd-uk-slovenia-125000-topographic-maps-full-coverage-bundle-1786987-preview-0.jpg?v=1776880560","url":"https:\/\/store.avenza.com\/products\/slovenia-125000-topographic-maps-full-coverage-visionmap-ltd-uk-map","provider":"Avenza Maps","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
