Free Entrance to Minnesota State Parks and Recreation Areas on Friday, Nov. 29

This holiday season, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is waiving entrance fees to all 73 state parks and recreation areas on Friday, November 29, as part of their “Free Park Day.” This initiative, held four times a year, encourages residents to enjoy the tranquility of nature and reap the physical and mental health benefits of spending time outdoors.

Whether hiking, biking, birdwatching, or simply exploring, Minnesota’s state parks offer a peaceful escape, even after the fall colors have faded. Late fall brings unique wildlife sightings and scenic views, making it an ideal time for outdoor activities.

Before heading out, visitors are encouraged to download the Avenza Maps app to navigate Minnesota’s parks effortlessly without needing a cell signal.
