What is the #BlueDotScreenshot?

When travelling somewhere new, whether a new city country, or simply exploring a new hiking trail, one of our first instincts is to grab a photo! How could it not be? It’s so easy to tell why. We capture pictures to create memories to look back on and to share with our family and friends.  By capturing a photo of your experience, you can relive that experience later on and tell stories you wouldn’t otherwise be able to tell quite the same way. With this in mind, we decided to introduce the #BlueDotScreenshot!

What exactly is the intention behind the #BlueDotScreenshot? We’re introducing this idea to allow users to share their best experiences with us using the Avenza Maps App! The idea is to capture your location while checking out one of your favourite bucket list items! Our offline functionality is one of our most popular and well-known features, allowing users to download maps offline and access their exact location without wifi or network connectivity. They can share their precise location coordinates with family and friends at any time, at any moment.

One of our favourite state parks to explore is Harriman State Park! This incredible park is located just outside New York City and is the second-largest park in New York, with over 200 miles of hiking trails! Harriman State Park is known for its beautiful scenery, wildlife, and trails for mountain biking and horseback riding. Have a goal to complete this season? Harriman State Park is one of the best places to achieve your goals! You can keep track of your distance travelled and add placemarks to your hike to remember specific moments from your hike.
