CRETE 50K MAPS

Until now I have used the map only for preparation (i. e. on the screen). I'll use it later on the field which is the real purpose I bought it. But it would be nice if it was possible to have it as well on the larger screen of a computer, and not only as an app.

Apollon hikes all of Crete

Excellent maps, together with the incomplete set of 1:25000 maps, BY FAR the most accurate maps of Crete. And I have been hiking countless times on Crete since I was a 26 yo lad in 1987. This time I hike from Kato Zakros to Elafonisi, following the E4 with my own variations/improvements. I did that 6y ago with only paper maps and no gps. I must admit that to just have the 1:50000 maps on my iphone - using the Avenza app - AND to see my actual position on the map, is a real treat. No navigation or gpx needed, as the Anavasi maps highlight the E4 in yellow - and when I follow my own route, it’s just as useful! I did place the maps both on my iphone and ipad - just in case. I did not use the set of 1:25000 maps I had with me (on paper). The only addition I occasionally used was the excellent maps.me app for in villages and towns - provides more detail there. I found only very few errors in the Anavasi maps, or potential improvement details. Will email Anavasi about those after I return home. Still hiking.
